Ivan Malekin and Sarah Jayne thank Frank Howson and the festival jury for selecting the film to screen and to allow us to take home some awards, thanks to the venue - a true gem of St Kilda and to the other filmmakers who were a part of the festival just as we were. Thanks to the audience for watching and supporting indie film.

Our first festival and our first awards - much appreciated. We are thrilled that Friends, Foes & Fireworks went back to it’s origins for its first festival.

It’s an honour to be featured and have our writer/director/editor Ivan Malekin as the Filmmaker Freedom guest blogger for November. Ivan discusses our improvised filmmaking technique, which links back to our Udemy course and how we shot Friends, Foes & Fireworks in a single night, without a script.

Read the informative blog via the link here, which also includes a free chapter and a direct link to the course.

Big thanks to Rob Harvey for letting NPG utilise the Filmmaker Freedom blog to talk about and share our work. Be sure to sign up the the Filmmaker Freedom newsletters, as we believe they are one of the best our there for indie filmmakers to learn the craft and get informed.

It is with much excitement that Nexus Production Group announces that a DVD version of Friends, Foes & Fireworks is coming. The film will be stocked through Barnes & Noble and Hoopla, available for order through Walmart and Best Buy, plus a few other DVD libraries and stores. It's already available to pre-order through Amazon and will be released on DVD come November 13th this year.

The film came about due to the directors Sarah Jayne and Ivan Malekin's dislike of all the NYE buildup and then disappointment which follows. So instead of trying again to 'have a good one', they decided to do what they love instead - make a film!*

DVD is a wonderful way to present the film, making it perfect to gift for Christmas and to watch with friends and family in the comfort of your own home. Those who are not fond of NYE and all the hype surrounding the end of the year celebrations, just like the directors, can spend the night watching the film and cheering on the characters as they stumble though a train-wreck of a NYE celebration.

As a bonus, the DVD purchase through Amazon also comes with a gift wrap option. As we said, the perfect gift and you can pre-order your copy here

*Read about it the the directors inspiration in the PRESS section, as it is often a topic of discussion in many interviews.
